A Letter from our President

Dear Friends:                                                                                                                     May, 2008

We are a third of the way through ’08 and it has been very busy at Foretravel with owner demo’s and pre-owned consignment sales, the Florida Supershow, Spring FMCA, and an extended visit to Indio, CA to display our newest Foretravels.  Several receptions were hosted at our display coach by the Tinkles, Reeds and Amys’.  Ron and Valarie Resh, in conjunction with California Coach Company, hosted a gathering of Foretravel owners at their impressive Desert Shores motorcoach residence.  We received very nice compliments on our coaches from non-Foretravel owners both at FMCA and Indio.  While we were there, we also interacted with the Motorcade Clubs’ Palms Springs Get-Away Rally that was hosted by Ed and Lois Goering.  As a result of our Indio experience we’re planning a special and limited event at Tiger Run in Breckenridge, Colorado this August.

We continue to make improvements to the website and in the near future we will be offering an interactive capability in our “members only” section to let you tell us what you think about various product and company issues.  Work is also being done to expand Foretravel of Texas’ site as well.  We are now getting over 5,000 unique visitors to www.foretravel.com each month—with an average of 60% of them visiting more than once.

Our remodeled showroom and offices are 95% complete and the updated look is a nice change from the way it has been for over 25 years.  It will provide a pleasant setting for displaying our factory certified, late model pre-owned Foretravels.  The showroom, combined with Lance Hays and Joey Ray joining our sales and marketing operation, puts us in a great position to continue serving our current and first time Foretravel owners.  We invite you to come by, take a factory tour, get your motorhome serviced and see for yourself the improvements we’re making.

The last weekend in April was a good sports weekend for Foretravel.  On that Saturday, ML Motorsports #70 Foretravel Car driven by veteran driver Mark Green finished an impressive 5th in Nascar’s Nationwide Series at Talladega.  Our congratulations go out to the race team.  On the following Sunday Foretravel won Nacogdoches’ Corporate Challenge when they finished 1st among twenty area teams.  Thirty-six employees participated in ten challenge events where our coed teams won first place in both softball and dodgeball.

We’ve been doing some testing with our coaches to make the best even better.  We’re very pleased with the additional ride and handling benefits of including HWH’s Active Air.  This advanced control system improves the stability of the coach under various maneuvering situations, comes with an improved control panel and speeds up the leveling process.  After having personally tested the system for over 1,500 miles, I’m sold on its performance.  We have also upgraded the design of our tag axle to further advance the presentation of our ride and handling characteristics.  When it comes to ride and handling, Foretravel will always strive to make the best even better.

On behalf of our entire Foretravel family, I want to express our thanks and gratitude to the retiring Ernie and Joann James for their 19+ years of dedication and devotion to running Motorcades and rallies, and who have long been a mainstay in our ladies driving school program.  They will be missed as much as they have been appreciated for all that they’ve done to put hundreds of ladies comfortably behind the wheel of their Foretravels.

Happy Foretraveling,

Lyle D. Reed, President
